Marketplaces, creator platforms, delivery and gig apps that collect money from buyers and must settle sellers, creators or drivers every week or every day.

In the sandbox, pay one test seller by SEPA and another on a virtual card, and compare both flows end to end.

Paying sellers is the operation that decides whether they stay on your platform. Late, opaque or expensive payouts send them to a competitor. Yet many platforms still settle by hand, in batches, with a bank that was never built for thousands of small transfers.

With the KemyCard API you can give each seller the choice: a transfer to their own bank account in Europe or the United States, or a virtual card loaded with their earnings and usable the same minute.

Two ways to pay a seller

1. Bank transfer: SEPA Instant or ACH

The seller gives you their bank details once. You save them as a beneficiary, then each settlement is a quote followed by a payout. SEPA Instant is credited within seconds in the 27 EU countries; ACH reaches any US bank account.

  -H "Authorization: Bearer sk_test_..." \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "customer_code": "SELLER_CUSTOMER_CODE",
    "rail": "sepa",
    "type": "business",
    "name": "Atelier Lumen SARL",
    "bank_name": "Seller Bank",
    "iban": "FR76...",
    "bic_swift": "BICCODEXXX",
    "street": "12 rue Example",
    "city": "Lyon",
    "postal_code": "69002",
    "state_province": "REGION_VALUE",
    "country": "FR"
  }'

GET /v1/payouts/countries lists the supported countries and the accepted region values for state_province. For a US account, use "rail": "us" with the account number, routing number and account type.

2. Virtual card: paid the same minute

For sellers who spend their earnings online (ads, stock, software), a card is faster than any transfer. Issue one card per seller, then top it up at each settlement with POST /v1/cards/{code}/topup. The card.topup.completed webhook confirms the funds are available.

The settlement loop

  1. Onboard the seller as a customer and verify their identity with a KYC link.
  2. Let them choose bank transfer or card, and save the beneficiary or issue the card.
  3. At each settlement, quote and send the payout, or top up the card, from your KemyCard balance.
  4. Show the status in the seller dashboard from the payout.* and card.topup.* webhooks.
Each payout takes your own reference, unique per partner. Use the settlement or order ID: a retried call never pays a seller twice.
